There is no doubt that the summer is coming to an end. The cooler temperatures, though short-lived, are a reminder that summer is over and the fall is arriving.
The coming week is highlighted by our First Quarter Parent/teacher Conferences. Holding these important meetings in the middle of the quarter allows us to head-off any academic of behavioral issues before they become too difficult for our students to overcome.
Parents and teachers should discuss issues with a goal of designing strategies to reduce, and even eliminate, them. This helps students throughout the year. Issues are manageable now. They can become too much to overcome if they are allowed to grow.
After School is available for both of these days. We do need parents to Register students so that Mrs. Morland, Director, has the important information she and her staff needs to keep students safe. Use the Registration Form here.
One issue I would like to highlight, as a general school concern, is lateness. With the school being open for breakfast starting at 7AM, there are no obstacles to arriving on time.
Getting to school late, especially for young students in PK & K, sets a poor tone for the day. All students need a routine that allows them to feel comfortable and safe. Arriving late creates unknowns about what is going on and what will happen. Getting into the building on time, and even early, allows them to feel in control and makes it so much easier to learn.
Another item that must be highlighted here is Tuition. Payments must be made on time. regional Policy is clear about the consequences should payments not be made. We are into the second month of school. Students will be financially suspended from school if payments are not up to date. We ask that you take whatever measures you must to ensure that these actions are avoided.
Our Annual Chocolate Sale has begun. Our goals this year are to replace several older Chromebooks, purchase another charging cart and we have replaced the school clock/bell system. In addition, we continue to investigate the replacement of our sound system. We hope to have good news on this project before the Christmas Concert.
The Parent Association is busy organizing the Annual Trunk or Treat & Harvest Dance. They are requesting parents to sign up and provide their trunks for the events. In addition, they have a list of items that are needed for the event. Based on the conversation at the October planning meeting I can assure everyone that the PA is going to make this year's event very enjoyable and different from previous. Look at their page for details and more ways you can help.
For our 8th Grade parents, here is an informational sheet as they navigate the High School Application Process. We are looking into scheduling an Information Night for parents and this will be communicated as soon as it is organized. In the meantime, take a look at this preliminary information.
Our After School Enrichment Programs are getting underway. In addition, to the TACHS Prep Class, our Arts & Crafts and Coding LCasses are taking registration now. Those forms came home already. Kids In The Game are putting the final touches on their programs and registration will be open soon.
I pray that each and every member of our school community enjoys a peace-filled and relaxing weekend. These days are precious. Fill them with all of God's beauty.
