We ended October in a huge way. The SMSPA Trunk or Treat & Harvest Dance was attended by over 400 people! Next, our Special Dress Day for Halloween gave everyone a chance to show off their creative side. And our Pumpkin Decorating Contest rounded out our events for the week. The Student Council also organized Socktober, a collection of new socks for distribution to homeless in our area. The school community donated a total of 287 pairs of socks!
The NYC DOHMH has assigned our school with a new School Nurse. I would like to introduce to you all, and ask you to welcome, Ms. Karen Weeks, RN. Ms. Weeks will be with us 5 days a week from 8AM until 4PM.
A note to our 8th Graders and families. The TACHS Exam Admit Cards will be distributed to students on Thursday, November 7th. This helps eliminate possible damage or loss. These MUST be brought to the testing site. We also recommend students bring their School ID's with them to the test site.
The Fr. Murphy Jr. Intramural Basketball program is open to boys and girls in grades 2-5. The games play on Saturday nights at 6:30 or 7:30. Joe Woods Sr. Boys intramural basketball games are open to boys only in grades 5-8; the games play on Friday nights at 7:45 and 8:45. There are NO practices. All participants are guaranteed to play a minimum of 12 minutes per game. The cost per player is $25. Checks can be made payable to St Margaret’s Athletic Association. All games are played in our school gym. Games will begin the weekend of November 22 and 23.
