Good afternoon, St. Margaret of Cortona Community.
At our Town Hall last Tuesday, the talk about creating videos for promoting our school got me thinking about ways that the school administration and faculty could join.
One of these is introducing our weekly newsletter and highlighting some of the important topics each week. So, here is my first ever weekly video newsletter.
We start this week with notice that today is the final day to register for intramural basketball. Intramurals is a fun and exciting way to play competitive basketball in a developmental setting. Registration forms can be found HERE.
Our Annual Food Drive supporting the Little Sisters of the Poor ends this Friday. We are slightly behind our usual collection and the Student Council asks for the final week push. We typically collect 300 pounds of food items. We have not yet reached 150 pounds, in this our final week, so we ask you to send in those items by Friday morning.
We have all noticed the change in the weather. So I remind all students that dressing appropriately each day is important. We will go outside as often as the weather permits, but that means having coats, gloves, hats, and scarves each day.
Our new Music Teacher, Mr. Miguel Ponce, started today. He will be with us during Mrs. Morello’s Maternity Leave. He will put the finishing touches on the Nativity Pageant over the next few weeks. We are so glad that Mr. Ponce has joined our community.
Also this week, there is information on the Columbus Citizens Foundation Scholarship. You can find the criteria and application instructions can be found HERE.
We have also been informed that our dear friend Santa Claus will coming to St. Margaret’s. Details on his arrival can be found HERE.
Lastly, our week will end with a half day this Friday. The Faculty and I will be meeting to organize and plan for December. Students are dismissed at 11:30AM. After School is available. PLEASE NOTE: The PK4A classes do have a full day.
I pray you have a great week. Thank you very much and God bless.
Mr. Keenan
