As I walk through our school each morning lately I feel that the building itself is getting anxious for the opening of school! In several areas we are figuratively, and literally, putting a fresh coat of paint on her.
Here is a list of the tasks that were completed this week:
the gym ceiling and walls have been freshly painted
the floor has been sanded and buffed to a high shine
the school bell-clock has been upgraded
the PA-system has been expanded to include the Music Room
Work that is still in process and remains to be finished: the stairwell floors and doors are being freshly painted
the classrooms on the third floor are having the plaster repaired
stairwells are getting a fresh coat of paint
And we have more work plans for the coming days.
Earlier this week a call for helpwas sent for one of our families. Your response was terrific and we ask for your continued support and prayers.
We are putting the finishing touches on our Opening Days Schedule. Our Early Childhood Center schedule is ready for parents and students. Our Orientation Day for K - 8th Grade is taking shape with the help of our SMSPA. It looks to be a fun and exciting opening of the year.
We are sending out A Call for Community Service! Help is needed on Monday and all 6th, 7th and 8th Graders are asked to help out. We have numerous tasks that need accomplishing and many hands make light work! Students should come to the Main Entrance of the school at 9AM. Work should be completed no later than 10AM.
Remember, Community Service is a requirement for Grades 6 - 8. Getting an early start can help avoid last minute anxiety.
